The Reverse Auction provides Sony Rewards members the opportunity to get a great deal once a month on Sony products and entertainment packages at a price they select. The Reverse Auction will be held once each month on the third Wednesday of the month, and there will be up to five (5) items offered. The auction will commence at 12:00pm Eastern Time and continue over a 10-hour period. Sony will post in advance the starting price for the item(s) and each hour, on the hour, the price will be lowered by a specified amount. Members will be able to easily determine how much the item cost will drop each hour and decide whether and when to purchase. The challenge and fun for members will be how long they can wait to obtain the product at the price you hope for, as there will be a limited number of products available. So they must make a decision on how much the product is worth to them. The longer they wait, the lower the price -- but the greater the chance that the product inventory will be exhausted before they have the chance to purchase. So, members don’t have to bid in this auction, just follow the progress of the auction, and if they want the product being offered at the low price available that hour, they can buy it then. Members can make up to two (2) purchases of the same item during the 10-hour auction. This means if members find the item still available during the 10th hour, they can purchase it at an even better value.

Once the inventory is depleted the auction on that item will end. Sony will have a remaining inventory status notice posted on the site and it will change whenever a member purchases an item. At the end of the 10-hour period the auction will end and no further purchasing can take place. All sales will be processed via our shopping cart and require a credit card. Members simply add the auction item to their shopping cart and follow the instructions. All sales are final once the credit card payment is processed. Shipping and handling charges apply.
