May 2008 Newsletter

Our 25th anniversary season is winding down, and we’ve had a lot of fun with it. I especially enjoyed seeing the old clips that were shown as we were going into commercial breaks. When you’ve done thousands of shows it   becomes very difficult to remember specific moments because everything seems to blend together. When those clips would start, I would find myself watching the studio monitors with absolutely no recollection of what I was seeing. It was kind of an out-of-body experience watching this Sajak guy and wondering what he was going to say or do next. Now I know how my wife feels!

Next season, of course, will be our 26th , and our 5,000th nighttime show will air. We haven’t yet figured out how to celebrate that milestone, but I’m sure we’ll come up with something special. Maybe I could remove my hair and show the world—oh, never mind.

We do know where we’ll be traveling next season, and the news is very good. We’ll be taping four weeks of shows on the Big Island of Hawaii in September and four more weeks at Orlando’s Sea World in December. It’s a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
