I have enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune off and on over the past 15-18 years. However, over the past 5 years my family and I have gotten really into the show. My husband James and I adopted two of our grandchildren, Jaemale and Brandon, who are now 5 and 6 years old. There are very few appropriate television shows for young children today. Consequently, we do not allow our young sons to watch television during the week, with the exception of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, because they are educational programs. So, it has become somewhat of a family “thing” to watch Wheel of Fortune together during dinner and to play along. In my spare time, I started to visit the Wheel of Fortune website and play the game online. I often entered the sweepstakes featured online, signed up to be a contestant, and kept abreast of things via the Wheel News and Events. It was here that I discovered the most exciting part of Wheel of Fortune, the SPIN ID and the Wheel Watchers Club! Even my boys know my SPIN ID number and always check to see if it will be featured on-air.

When I see the Bonus Puzzle solution, I go to the website, fill in the answer, and earn points that can be redeemed for fabulous Sony merchandise and trips. I recently redeemed my points for a wonderful trip to Denver, which included a 4-day, 3-night stay at a beautiful 5-star hotel in Downtown Denver and V.I.P. tickets to the live taping of Wheel of Fortune. When our boys heard about this, they excitedly exclaimed, “Mom, you are going to see “Feel Wortune”! (as they so cutely pronounce it.) This trip was an indescribable despite and romantic get-a-way for my husband and I. And, when Wheel of Fortune says V.I.P., they mean “V.I.P.” The staff greets you with warmth and enthusiasm and you are treated like royalty. Being apart of the studio audience with front-row seats was also thoroughly enjoyable. While I was there, it was “College Week” and it was just so exciting to actually witness the contestants solving the puzzles and winning their prizes.

Now, more than ever I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Wheel Watchers Club. It’s free, it’s fun, it’s exciting, and you can only gain and never lose from being a part of it. So, I have only one question for those of you who have not joined: “What are you waiting for?!”
