It is a thrill to have the opportunity to tell you about my “Wheel” life! When the show started using the cartoon characters during the intro I thought, “Wow, that’s us!” When we watch Wheel everything stops, no phone calls are answered, unless of course they are fellow Wheel Watchers, and we play right along every weeknight.

My father is the one who got me hooked on the show. Daddy was a true Wheel fan; he would always play along with the show and would yell out the answers almost always before the actual contestants did. I have many fond memories of dinners spend in front of the T.V. sitting along side of him. He has since passed away, but I can’t help but think that he is still playing right along with us.

Today, my husband, Jim, and I “compete” and I have to admit, I am the quickest between the two of us to solve the puzzle. I guess all that time in English class paid off! We have a 3-year-old grandson who also loves to play along. As soon as he hears the music, he calls out, “WHEEL OF FORTURE,” just like the audience. He then proceeds to sit down and watch the show. His favorite letter is “T.” He loves it when the contestants call it out. Now, at 3, he is learning his alphabet much faster through his experience of watching the show. When he starts solving before us, I’ll let you know! (Haha) He also says Vanna is very pretty, and is always complementing her on her dresses. It is so funny. Collin is such a hoot: he really “gets into it.”

I look forward to many more years to come of good family entertainment. For the young, old and not so old! Thanks for all you do to keep America smiling! (And learning how to spell.)

Sharren J.
