1. Q: What is Sony Rewards?

 
A: Sony Rewards is an exciting program designed to reward Sony enthusiasts for interacting with various Sony businesses and for taking advantage of special offers on our Sony Rewards website. You can earn points by participating in website activities, such as solving puzzles, maintaining a personal Wish List, and by answering polls and surveys. It's easy and it's fun. Points can be redeemed for Sony merchandise and used to participate in program activities and sweepstakes, such as Daily Giveaway and Monthly Dream Prize.
 

2. Q: Do I need to do anything to join?

 
A: Yes. Go to www.sonyrewards.com and click on the Sign Up Now link at the top of the page to register.  It's easy and it's FREE!
 

3. Q: Is the Sony Rewards program also valid for Sony Card members?

 
A: Yes. In fact, Sony Rewards offers special incentives that make it more valuable than ever to use the Sony Card. You will continue to earn points by using your Sony Card, plus you can now earn points by: participating in polls or surveys, playing games with Sony entertainment companies, and creating and updating your Wish List.
 

4. Q: What's the advantage of Sony Rewards?

7. Q: How do I create my Wish List?

 
A: Go to the Rewards Catalog in the REDEEM section of the Sony Rewards website (www.sonyrewards.com). Browse around and whenever you see an item you'd like on your Wish List, simply click the adjacent "Add to Wish List" button. You can list up to 30 items from the Sony Rewards catalog -- electronics, CDs, DVDs, entertainment and more. You'll earn 50 Rewards Points just for creating your Wish List,  plus 25 points each month you update it!
 

8. Q: What kind of offers will I receive from Sony Rewards partners?

 
A: Our program partners will make special offers available only to Sony Rewards members. When an offer is made available you'll be given simple instructions for how to take advantage of it.
 

Earning Sony Rewards Points

9. Q: How do I earn Sony Rewards Points?

 
A: With Sony Rewards, you have more exciting ways to earn points and more opportunities to win prizes, too. Here are some of the ways you can earn Sony Rewards Points:

  • You can earn points by participating in special Sony Television entertainment activities. Check out the Sony Rewards website to learn how to take advantage of these programs.

    Example: Wheel of Fortune and Sony Pictures Television Entertainment have activities that let you play along to earn valuable points. If you play the Wheel of Fortune Bonus Puzzle each weekday, you can earn 10 points per game played.

  • You can earn 50 points by creating your Wish List of Sony products if you haven't already done so.
  • You can earn 25 points per month by confirming or updating your Wish List.
  • You can earn a minimum of 10 points by completing a Sony poll or survey (each survey).
  • You can earn 50 points by completing the Your Profile questionnaire under Your Account.
  • If you are a Sony Card member, you can earn 5 points for every dollar you spend each time you make a purchase with your Sony Card from SonyStyle.com.
 

10. Q: Is there a difference between the points I earn through Sony Rewards and those I earn with my Sony Card?

 

A: No, there is no difference between the points. They are both pooled and available for use on sonyrewards.com.

 

11. Q: Do Sony Rewards Points have a cash value?

 

A: Yes. New Sony Rewards Points have a cash value of $0.01 per point.

 

12. Q: How many points can I earn?

 

A: There is no limit to the number of Sony Rewards Points you can earn. The more online activities you participate in, the faster your points will add up. And if you have a Sony Card your point-earning opportunities increase.

 

13. Q: Do my points expire at the end of a certain time?

 

A: You earn Sony Rewards Points on a calendar year basis. You can use your points at any time during the year they were earned and also for an additional three-month period in the following year. At the end of this three-month grace period, the points earned in the previous calendar year will expire.

Example: in 2007, you earn 10,000 Sony Rewards Points. You use 5,000 of your points before the end of December, leaving 5,000 points unused at the start of 2008. You will have until March 31st, 2008, to use your remaining 5,000 points from calendar year 2007. And if you wish, you can combine these points with the points you earn in January to March, 2008. At the end of March, 2008, your unused Sony Rewards Points from 2007 will expire -- but any points you have earned in 2008 can still be used throughout the year 2008 and also for an additional three-month grace period in 2009.

As a Sony Card member, your Sony Rewards Points will expire 5 years from the end of the month in which you earned them. For example, points earned on June 15, 2006, will expire on June 30, 2011. Points are redeemed on a first in/first out basis, so you have plenty of time to select the Sony reward you are most interested in redeeming.

 

Ways to Use Your Sony Rewards Points

14. Q: What can I do with my Sony Rewards Points?

 
A: Here are some of the ways you can use your Sony Rewards Points:

  • You can use your Sony Rewards Points to redeem items in our Sony Rewards catalog.
  • You can use them to multiply your chances of winning the Daily Giveaway Prize.
  • You can use them to multiply your chances of winning the Monthly Dream Prize.
 

15. Q: How will I use my points when I buy from the Sony Rewards catalog?

 

A: That's easy. Just select an item from the catalog and put it in your shopping cart. When you proceed to checkout, we'll apply all of your eligible points toward your redemption. If you don't have enough points, you'll be given the opportunity to purchase additional points so that you can get the Sony stuff you want!

Example: from the Sony Rewards catalog, you've selected a Sony Network Walkman® for 15,000 points. You have only 10,000 points in your account. You'll be given the option to purchase 5,000 additional points at $0.01 per point.

 

16. Q: Are there Sony Rewards Points redemption restrictions?

 

A: Yes, please refer to the "Expiration of Sony Rewards Points" section in your most recent Sony Card Rewards Collection catalog for details.

 

17. Q: What is the Sony Card "Purchase Credit Option"?

 

A: With the Purchase Credit Option, you can use your Sony Card to shop at any Sony authorized retailer and apply your accumulated Sony Rewards Points to your purchase to receive a full or partial credit to your account.

Here's how it works:
1. Purchase the Sony item(s) you want with your Sony Card at any Sony authorized retailer

2. Click on the YOUR ACCOUNT tab at the top of the Sony Rewards website and the "View Purchase Credit Form" link

3. Fill out the form, print it, and then mail it to the provided address along with a copy of your sales receipt

4. Once your request is processed, we'll credit your account $1 for every 100 Rewards Points you have available, including the points earned for the purchase you just made, within two billing cycles

 

Gift Cards

18. Q: Why did the required points for gift card redemptions increase?

 
The goal of the Sony Rewards program is to provide you with SONY rewards at a great value. We do this by giving you as many opportunities as possible to earn points and as much flexibility as possible to redeem your points, including the availability of gift cards from popular merchants.

After thorough research, we concluded that the best way to fulfill our goal of giving you the best value on SONY rewards was to adjust the point redemption values of non-SONY gift cards to be in-line with competing credit card rewards programs, while adding SONY gift cards to the catalog at phenomenal value; you can get a $100 Sony Style gift card for only 9,500 points. Also, we now include shipping and handling in the point redemption value for all gift cards, which was previously an additional charge.

20. Q: Can I use the Purchase Credit option and purchase the gift card at another location?

 
No, you can only redeem your points for gift cards at SonyRewards.com.

No, Sony Rewards only provides tracking for orders $300 and above.
 

22. Q: Can I redeem Sony Style gift cards online?

24. Q: Is the Wish It Win It Sweepstakes still available?

 
A: No, the Wish It Win It Sweepstakes was discontinued effective January 1, 2010.
 

Daily Giveaway

25. Q: What is the Daily Giveaway?

 

A. The Daily Giveaway is a fun activity that gives Sony Rewards members a chance  to win something from Sony every weekday they visit our website.

 

26. Q: How does the Daily Giveaway work?

 
A: You can enter the Daily Giveaway at the Sony Rewards homepage. Enter the number of points you want to bid in the box next to the question mark and hit Play. Then hold the space bar down until you've got enough power and let go to spin the wheel. The number of points you bid is multiplied by the number the wheel lands on. Points equals entries, so the more you bid, the more chances you have to win. You can bid up to 500 of your Rewards Points a day. If you're not the winner, your points go right back into your account. 
 

27. Q: How will I know if I have won?

 

A: If you are a winner and you log in to the Sony Rewards website, you will see a special message to let you know that you've won. The names of the winning members will also be posted on our website. If you win one of the three Daily Giveaway prizes, you'll have up to 24 hours to claim your prize. If you do not claim your prize within this period, the prize will be forfeited. As a Sony Rewards member who is a registered Sony Card holder, you can substitute the posted prize for an item from your Wish List up to $1,000.00 in value, or $1,000.00 - $1,176.47 in value if you have attained privileged status with the Wheel Watchers Club.

Example A: You enter the Daily Giveaway and bid 200 of your Sony Rewards Points. You spin the entries wheel and land on 5. You will then have 1,000 entries into that day's Giveaway. The next day, you log onto the website and learn that you are a winner. You follow the instructions to claim your prize -- and when the prize is sent to you, 200 Sony Rewards Points are deducted from your account.

Example B: You enter the Daily Giveaway and bid 200 of your Sony Rewards Points. You spin the entries wheel and land on 5. You will then have 1,000 entries into that day's Giveaway. The next day, you log onto the website and check to see if you have won the prize. This time, you are not a winner -- so your 200 Sony Rewards Points will be returned to your account.

 

Monthly Dream Prize

28. Q: What is the Monthly Dream Prize?

 

A: A prize that only Sony can offer -- a spectacular prize that might include travel and lodging, entertainment, unique experiences behind the scenes with Sony entertainment, Sony electronics products and more.

 

29. Q: How does the Monthly Dream Prize work?

 

A: Log onto the Sony Rewards website, access the Monthly Dream Prize screen and follow the instructions. You can enter the Monthly Dream Prize Sweepstakes once each month, bid your points just as you do on the Daily Giveaway -- and your bidding maximum will now rise to 1,000 points to multiply your chances of winning. Once you spin the entries wheel, your points are converted to Monthly Dream Prize entries. If you do not win the Monthly Dream Prize, your points are automatically returned to your account.

 

30. Q: How will I know if I have won?

 
A: It's simple, just log on to the Sony Rewards site, click on the Monthly Dream Prize to access the Recent Winner Tab and see if you are the winner. The name of the winning member will also be posted on our website. If you win the Monthly Dream Prize, you'll have from the day of the drawing until 11:59:59 p.m. ET the following Sunday to verify online. If you do not verify online within that time period, the prize will be forfeited.
 

Deals and Auctions

31. Q: Do Sony Rewards members qualify for other special discounts?

 

A: Yes, with the Deal of the Week and Reverse Auctions.

 

32. Q: How does the Deal of the Week work?

 

A: The Deal of the Week gives Sony Rewards members an opportunity to receive substantial savings on a single item selected from Sony merchandise. Sony will make this product available until inventory is depleted. You must have a valid credit or debit card to take advantage of these special savings. Shipping and handling charges apply.

 

33. Q: How do I take advantage of the Deal of the Week?

 

A: Each week we will send you an e-mail advising you of what will be available for the next week. Then simply log onto the Sony Rewards website and follow the instructions. You will see the product available, learn its Deal of the Week price (the price will vary depending upon which product is being offered), and find out how many products are available. Products will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so you should act quickly if you want to take advantage of the Deal of the Week.

 

34. Q: What is the Reverse Auction?

 

A: The Reverse Auction gives Sony Rewards members total control in obtaining a great deal once a month on Sony products at the cost they select. The Reverse Auction will be held on the third Wednesday of each month, from 12 noon ET to 10 PM ET. As a registered Sony Rewards member, you'll receive an email in advance of the auction informing you which Sony products will be auctioned, so you have a chance to research them and decide whether you want them.

 

35. Q: How is the price determined?

 
A: That's the challenge: you determine the price you want to pay, then follow the Reverse Auction as the price drops each hour. We'll let you know as the quantity of available products diminishes. The challenge will be how long you should wait to obtain the product at the price you hope for.
 

36. Q: How long should I wait?

 

A: There will be a limited number of products available, so you must make a decision on how much the product is worth to you. The longer you wait, the lower the price -- but the greater the chance that the product's supply will be exhausted.

 

37. Q: How does the bidding work in a Reverse Auction?

 
A: That's the easy part -- you don't have to bid. Follow the progress of the auction, and if you want the product being offered at the low price available that hour, you can buy it. If you wait for the price to drop even lower in the following hour, the supply of products may be exhausted and you'll have to wait for next month's auction.
 

Digital Downloads

38. Q: How do I get download credits?

 

A: Simply visit the "Digital Downloads" section of the Sony Rewards catalog, where you’ll see audio downloads available in increments of 10, 20 and 25. You’ll also see video downloads available in increments of 5, 10 and 20.

 

39. Q: What is a download credit?

 

A: One download credit is equal to one download. If you purchase 10 Audio download credits, you’ll be able to download 10 songs from our download service. If you purchase 5 Video download credits, you’ll be able to download 5 videos from our download service.

 

40. Q: Do I have to use all of my credits at once?

 

A: No. If you have any remaining credits, you can visit the download service at a later date to download more. Remember to keep the email confirming your downloads, since you will need to click on the link within the email to return to the download service.

 

41. Q: How do I get to the download service?

 

A: The easiest way to get to the download service website is to click on the "Click here to download now" link from your confirmation email.

 

42. Q: What happens if I lost my confirmation email?

 
A: Don’t worry if you misplaced the email. Simply login to Sony Rewards, navigate to your order history in the My Account section and click on the "Click here to download now" link You’ll be redirected to the download service, which will display your remaining credits.
 

43. Q: Can’t I just bookmark the download service website?

 

A: Unfortunately, no. You’ll need to access the download service either through our emails or your order history page. This is to ensure that the proper number download credits is posted to your account.

 

44. Q: Can I download music and videos from the same site?

 
A: At this time, you must visit different sites to download your music and video. So, be sure to click on the appropriate link to access the downloads you want.
 

45. Q: What are the computer configuration requirements to use the Sony Rewards Downloads Service?

 
You must have a PC running Windows, Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser and the Windows Media Player software in order to use the Sony Rewards Downloads Service. Other computers, such as Macintosh, and software, such as Mozilla Firefox may cause incompatibility problems.

 

46. Q: Can I use the Sony Rewards Downloads Service with an iPod?

 
Our download service provides files in the WMA music format or the WMV video format, which is not supported by Macintosh or iPod. iPods and iTunes use a proprietary file format and do not recognize protected WMA files. To use your music with an iPod, simply follow the steps below:
  1. Save each downloaded song to your PC.
  2. Burn a music CD (in CDA file format).
  3. Import the music from the CD into iTunes
  4. Update your iPod

Overview

1. Q: What's new and exciting about the Wheel Watchers Club? Are there more advantages?

 
A: The Wheel Watchers Club continues to reward you for doing what you love -- watching Wheel of Fortune. The only difference is that your Wheel Watchers Club on Sony Rewards membership has even more incredibly exciting benefits and advantages. We launched an entirely new website with exciting new features including Pat's Place, Featured Member Stories, Dream Prizes, Reverse Auctions, and much more. And, if that isn't exciting enough, we introduced two new privileged status levels; FREE SPIN and JACKPOT- feature-packed with special offers for our most dedicated members. (See questions 4 - 15 for details about Status Levels).
 

2. Q: Where can I find the Wheel of Fortune Daily Bonus Puzzle?

 
A: You need to have the Wheel Watchers Club set as your home page in order to see the Daily Bonus Puzzle. To set Wheel Watchers Club as your home page, first make sure you're logged in to the Sony Rewards site. Go to the YOUR ACCOUNT section and then click on Update Homepage Settings in the YOUR PROFILE section. Click the round button below the Wheel Watchers Club image. Make sure there's a green dot in the center of the button after you've clicked it. Then, click UPDATE to complete the change. Each time you log in to the site, Wheel Watchers Club will now automatically appear as your home page.
 

3. Q: What are the Wheel Watchers Club Status Levels on Sony Rewards?

 
A: Wheel Watchers Club members can earn privileged status levels - and additional benefits - by regularly and correctly completing the Bonus Round Puzzle Solution online each weekday. Simply watch Wheel of Fortune each weeknight (Monday - Friday) and then go to the Wheel Watchers Club on Sony Rewards website before 5 p.m. ET the following day to enter the Bonus Round Puzzle Solution for that show. You will receive ten (10) Sony Rewards Points for each Bonus Round Puzzle Solution you successfully complete. Once you correctly complete eight (8) or more Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions in a  month, you will earn privileged status in this program. This privileged status also provides additional discounts on most products and exclusive rewards from the Sony Rewards Catalog.
 

4. Q: How many privileged status levels are there?

 
A: There are two privileged status levels: FREE PLAY LEVEL and JACKPOT LEVEL.
 

5. Q: How do I qualify for a privileged status level?

 

A: Attaining a privileged status level is determined by the number of Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions you correctly complete online in a month:

  • FREE PLAY LEVEL is attained by correctly completing eight (8) Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions in a month.
  • JACKPOT LEVEL is attained by correctly completing twelve (12) Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions in a month.

So, be sure to watch Wheel of Fortune each weeknight and then go online to complete the Bonus Round Puzzle Solution. Again, your status level will be determined based on your monthly activities, as described above.

 

6. Q: How long do I retain my privileged status level?

 

A: Once you complete the 8 or 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions required within a one-month period, you will automatically attain the appropriate privileged status level. Wheel Watchers Club will automatically notify you when you have achieved a privileged status level and are eligible to enjoy the special privileges afforded by that status level. Your Club Page will automatically indicate your status level and the Sony Rewards catalog will reflect the new discounted pricing afforded to you for obtaining a privileged status level. Your status level is determined from the time you complete the required number of Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions per month and is maintained until the end of the following month. You can also view your Point History in Your Account section on the website to keep track of how many puzzles you have correctly completed.

Example: You watch the first 12 Wheel of Fortune shows from the beginning of June 2007 and correctly complete the Bonus Round Puzzle Solution for each weeknight show online.  In this scenario, you would achieve JACKPOT LEVEL status on June 18th (after you complete the 12th puzzle) and will maintain your JACKPOT LEVEL status until July 31, 2007. In order to maintain your status beyond this date, simply correctly complete at least 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions in July 2007, and so on for each following month. If for some reason you are unable to complete the 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions in a given month, then your status level will be reset to the appropriate level.

Remember, you can easily re-qualify for higher status levels by completing either 8 or 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions the following months.

 

7. Q: What are the benefits of the new Wheel Watchers Club on Sony Rewards and are there additional benefits for different status levels?

 

A: All members will receive the core benefits of being a Wheel Watchers Club member. These benefits include:

8. Q: How often do I need to qualify for my status level?

 
A: Each month simply complete 8 or 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions to qualify for the FREE PLAY or JACKPOT LEVEL status, respectively. Watch Wheel of Fortune, then go to the Wheel Watchers Club on Sony Rewards website (www.sonyrewards.com/wof) and complete the daily Bonus Round Puzzle Solution. Not only will this help you reach one of the privileged status levels, you will also earn valuable Sony Rewards Points that can be used in the Rewards Catalog.

 

9. Q: If I am unable to complete the necessary number of Bonus Round Puzzles during a given month, what happens to my status?

 
A: If you completed 8 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions (Free Spin Status Level) or 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions (Jackpot Status Level) in one month your status level will continue through to the end of the next month. For example, if you achieved Jackpot Status Level in March, and were unable to complete the necessary number of Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions in April - as a valued Wheel Watchers Club member, we will continue your JACKPOT LEVEL Status through to the end of the April. But, remember, in May you will need to repeat the process and complete either 8 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions - or 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions - to once again attain your status level.
 

10. Q: If I complete more than twelve Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions in a month, can they count toward the following month's status level?

 
A: Sorry, you must complete either 8 or 12 Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions per month to maintain your status level. However, each Bonus Round Puzzle Solution you complete will earn you 10 Sony Rewards Points to redeem toward valuable Sony and Wheel deals in the Rewards Catalog.
 

11. Q: As a JACKPOT LEVEL member, if I win the opportunity to audition for the chance to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, how will I be notified if I have been selected to appear on the show?

 

A: Wheel of Fortune has a specific process to select contestants for the show. Last year over a million people requested the chance to audition for Wheel of Fortune. Fewer than 600 people were selected to appear on the show. Please be aware that an audition does not guarantee you an appearance on the show. Those auditioning will not know by the end of the audition if they have been selected. We will notify by mail those selected to be on the show. The entire audition process lasts about 2-3 hours.

12. Q: How will I know if my level status changes or when I qualify for FREE SPIN or JACKPOT LEVEL status?

 
A: When you complete the necessary number of Bonus Round Puzzle Solutions, you will receive an e-mail from the Wheel Watchers Club notifying you of your accomplishment and status level. Then each time you visit the Wheel Watchers Club online you will clearly see your status level listed along with your SPIN ID number on your Club Page. Plus, your discount pricing, afforded to you for obtaining a privileged status level, will automatically change in our Rewards Catalog to reflect your status level. You can also view your Point History in Your Account section on the website to keep track of how many puzzles you have correctly completed.
 

13. Q: Is my status level pricing automatically applied to my redemptions in the Wheel Watchers Club catalog?
