Mentored by a pair of gospel legends, first Richard Smallwood and later James Cleveland, Kurt Carr received a grounding in gospel from the beginning of his musical career, one that has paid dividends far down the years for the gospel pianist, musical director, and leader. Bless This House, the first album for Carr and his Kurt Carr Singers in five years, is another blast of triumphant worship music. Like 2008's Just the Beginning, it's a two-hour collection of energetic gospel, backed by his stellar chorus and featuring guest vocals from Judith McAllister ("Let Everything") and Lorraine Stancil-Lawson ("We Cannot Be Silent").
