This biopic centers on troubled television journalist Christine Chubbuck (Rebecca Hall), who committed suicide live on air during a newscast in 1974. Chubbuck works for the local news in Saratosa, FL, where she is frustrated by her vapid assignments and her unrequited feelings for the show's anchorman (Michael C. Hall). In time, her inability to get her life together causes her to completely unravel. Tracy Letts, Maria Dizzia, and Kim Shaw co-star. Directed by Antonio Campos.;

"CHRISTINE explores the numerous ways that the era?s open sexism contributes to Chubbuck?s professional frustration...Rather than make a futile attempt to explain why Chubbuck did what she did, CHRISTINE embraces the irresolvable."
"CHRISTINE, centered on a riveting and at times unbearably emotional performance by Rebecca Hall, attempts to give a three-dimensional and respectful-yet-honest portrait of a complex woman."
New York Times
"Every so often, an actor takes possession of a role so thoroughly -- turning each line, flickering look and gesture into an expression of being -- that she becomes your way into the movie as well as the reason you keep watching. That?s the case with Rebecca Hall, the star of CHRISTINE..."
Los Angeles Times
"By turns coolly observed and disquietingly compassionate -- qualities that also describe Rebecca Hall?s brilliant central performance -- the movie drifts alongside its subject, Charon-like, through the hell of her last weeks."
4 stars out of 5 -- "Hall deftly uses body language to exacerbate the social awkwardness that stems from an inability to judge situations and adapt to suit them."
The Guardian
5 stars out of 5 -- "[T]his elegant, achingly sad study of debilitating depression is by no means a conventional piece of film-making. Deftly sidestepping any of the obvious narrative choices, this film confirms Campos as one of the most intelligent and consistently surprising film-makers working in US indie cinema."
